Weather Policy

Winter is the time of the year that is not only very beautiful but also dangerous at times.  We all know that winters in Michigan can change in the blink of an eye.  If Midland Public Schools are canceled or released early because of bad weather or and evening activities are canceled the church youth activities that are scheduled will be canceled as well.  Of course that only works for weekday events.  If there is an event on the weekend and there is potential bad weather, I along with a member of Youth Ministry Team will determine whether to cancel the event or not.  All decisions will be made at least one hour prior to the start of the event.  If the decision has been made to cancel an event, notification will be made via text message and the youth page of the website.
That being said, please know that at no time does the decision to have an event override the decision of a parent to keep their child at home.  As a parent, if you are not comfortable with your child traveling to a youth event because of the weather, please keep them home.

Note to Parents

Please know all youth activities are open to parent involvement and participation.  If at any time you would like to stop in and observe Youth Fellowship, Sunday school or Bible Study or would like to become involved, the doors are always open!

If you would like information or have interest in volunteering, please contact the Youth and Young Adult office at 835-6759.

Volunteering

Interested in volunteering as a youth Sunday School teacher?  Please contact a member of the Youth Ministry Team.
