What to Expect on Sunday Morning

Visiting a new church can be confusing. Figuring out where the Sunday School rooms and nursery are, knowing where to go for coffee, finding parking, meeting new people. . . it can all be overwhelming. If you let us know ahead of time that you are coming by clicking Visit on the left, we can help plan your visit. We can reserve a parking spot, preregister your children, or make sure you meet the pastors– anything to help your morning go more smoothly. But right now you can read answers to some of the most common questions of our visitors.

The style of music is the main difference between our two services. At 9:00 praise music is featured, while at 10:45 worship is enhanced by our sixty-nine rank Letourneau organ and a full choir.

Where do I park and where is the main entrance?

The best place to park is in our parking lot on Allen Street across from the church. Our main entrance is on Allen Street. You can also park on Reardon Street and enter on that side of the building. Overflow parking is in the lot at Central Park Elementary School.

Handicapped parking is located directly on Allen Street right by the main entrance and in the Allen Street parking lot. Other handicapped spots are located by the Reardon Street entrance to the church.

If you let us know you are coming, we can reserve a parking spot for you.

What should I wear?

At MPC people wear everything from suits and Sunday dresses to jeans and T-shirts.

We know that God cares more about the inside of a person than what they wear on the outside.

Wear whatever is most comfortable for you.

What does Sunday morning look like for my family?

Newborns to three-year-olds have a special place in the nursery with loving, consistent caregivers during the worship service. The nursery is located in Rooms 108 and 110 (in the hallway directly underneath the sanctuary).

Preschoolers and elementary-age children may attend the 9:00 or 10:45 service. Our main children’s time occurs during the 10:45 service. Kids begin worship with their parents, come forward for the children’s message, and then go downstairs for Bible BLAST. After the service, parents pick their children in their classrooms.

For safety reasons, we prefer that parents register their children beforehand through this website or in Room 116 before worship begins.  Click here to download and print the Child Registration Form.

Middle-schoolers and high-schoolers attend their own worship service called Youth Gathering. It meets in Room 55 at 10:45 a.m.

If you want to learn more about our programs and opportunities for children, go to Room 116 and ask a volunteer for a pizza box. Inside you'll find everything you need to know.

If you let someone know you are a visitor, you will receive a coupon for a free beverage from Café Montreat.

Where are the coffee and cookies?

Free coffee is available in the 9:00 a.m. service.

Free coffee and snacks can be found in Mayton Hall after the 10:45 a.m. service.

Plus...

To raise money for summer camp, our youth group sells fancy coffee drinks throughout the morning at Café Montreat.

What’s the most important thing I can do on Sunday morning?

Make yourself at home.

Worship our Lord and Savior.
