Project Blue Light is a nationwide recognition of those law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. It began in 1988 in Philadelphia when Dolly Craig wrote a letter to COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) stating that she would be honoring her late son-in-law, Philadelphia Police Officer Danny Gleason, during the holiday season by placing a blue light in her window. Project Blue Light of Midland County has expanded this recognition to honor, revere and remember law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency service personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We thank you, and we salute you. You are invited to stay for a reception immediately following the Blue Light Service.
